Girls and teachers poisoned in afghan school

120 girls and 3 teachers were sent to a hospital in afghanistan wednesday, after being poisoned by some kind of spray. This incident happened in the provincial capital of Talokhan at a girls school. Some of the girls were hospitalized for quite some time with symptoms such as dizziness , vomiting headaches and loss of consciousness. Blood sample's have been taken from the poisoned girls to determine the substance that made them ill.  The girls sent to the hospital are usually not in critical conditions but rather in great discomfort. The people of Afghanistan know that the terrorists responsible for poisoning these girls. They believe the terrorist do it to threaten girls and keep from going to school. It isn't the first time that Afghanistan has dealt with this issue. Girls have been poisoned after drinking well water in the past.

During the rule of the Taliban from 1996 to 2001 many girls were not allowed to attend school .In 2001, when the regime came to a close due to the U.S led invasion. However, observers say abuse of women remains common in the post-Taliban era and is often accepted in conservative and traditional families, where women are barred from school and sometimes subjected to domestic violence.
